Turboatom signed contract for condenser modernization of Zaporizhzhya NPP

Turboatom signed a contract with SE NNEGC Energoatom for modernization of turbine condenser of unit No3 at the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant (NPP) in Ukraine.

Amount of agreement is 448 131 thous. hryivnas.

According to the terms of agreement for Zaporizhzhya power plant “Turboatom” will manufacture and supply condenser of “block-module” design with pipe system made of stainless steel, which will replace condenser with pipe system of copper-nickel alloy for turbine K-1000-60/1500-2 with capacity 1.000 MW. Condenser is in operation at Unit No 3of NPP since 1986. New equipment will allow turbine unit to operate at full capacity when cooling water temperature changes, increase capacity and extend life of unit.

Completion of manufacture and shipment of condenser equipment for Unit No3, according to the agreement, to be performed during period from March to May 2017.

Agreement was signed under results of open bidding and procurement procedure in Prozorro system, in accordance with “Public Procurement Law”. “Turboatom” took part in tender on Prozorro system for the first time.

For the contract also compete: Balcke Dürr GmbH (Germany), I&C Energo a.s. (Czech Republic), and KRALOVOPOLSKA a.s. (Czech Republic).

General Director SS “Atomkomplekt” SE NNEGC “Energoatom” Andriy Maystrenko noted that for “Energoatom” signing of the present contract – large and important work: “We have seen once again that “Turboatom” is our strategic partner in production of this unique equipment as condensers. In my view, this contract is the beginning of serious strategic relationships. In nearest future at Ukrainian nuclear power plants planned modernization program for replacement of blades, condensers and other components of spare parts, which will implement exactly “Turboatom.”

According to General Director of PJSC “Turboatom” Victor Subotin, tender procedures were lengthy contract was preparing for a long time and contain high requirements, including deadlines.

Zaporizhzhya NPP located on the banks of Kakhovka reservoirs in Zaporozhzhya region in city of Energodar. It is the largest power plant in Europe. At NPP there are five turbines K-1000-60/1500-2, and one K-1100-60/1500-2m manufactured by PJSC “Turboatom.”
