SeaRoc Group deploys 3 communication containers at Dong energy sites

SeaRoc Group announced that it has deployed three communication containers for Dong energy on Walney Extension site
at the following locations:

  • On board guard vessel which is patrolling the offshore construction site
  • Walney Extension construction base in Barrow-in-Furness.
  • Walney Extension substation in Heysham.

The communications system deployed onshore to support the Burbo Extension construction project remains operational and will be combined with DONG Energy’s operational communication system later in 2017.

SeaRoc Group Project Manager, Neil Pittam said that this is a significant step in the scope of work they are delivering to DONG Energy in support of its UK project portfolio. The three SeaHub containers deployed for the Walney Extension site follows the initial launch of the unique system on DONG Energy’s Race Bank site earlier this year. Additionally they have also installed two Crew Transfer Terminals on board crew transfer vessels at Burbo Extension and Race Bank. Twenty-three more Crew Transfer Terminals are planned for deployment to support Dong Energy’s portfolio, 18 of which are for Walney Extension.
