NRC announces Frederick D. Brown to replace Glenn Tracy

The Nuclear Regulatory commission announced that Frederick D. Brown will replace Glenn Tracy who recently retired. Mr. Brown is appointed as Deputy Executive Director and is responsible for overseeing the nuclear materials and waste safety program activities of the agency. He is also responsible for guiding and directing programs related to nuclear regulatory research, state and tribal activities, enforcement and investigations, and activities related to human resources and corporate support.

Mr. Brown joined NRC Region office in 1994 and served on various posts. Before joining NRC he spent 12 years as an engineer, supervisor and manager at Mare Island Naval Shipyard. He holds a bachelor’s of science degree with a double major from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, N.Y., and is a registered Professional Engineer (Mechanical) in California.
