Kirchengel wind Farm sold to group of Investors

WKN AG announced that it has sold the Thuringian wind energy project to Centraplan GmbH as well as some private investors being consulted by the Swiss specialist for renewable energies.

Construction works for the wind farm with a total capacity of 9.9 megawatts have already started. The turbines with a hub height of 140 metres are located close to the WKN wind farm Westerengel that had been commissioned already in 2016. Commissioning of all three Kirchengel turbines is planned for summer 2017. WKN will be responsible as EPC contractor and will also take over the technical and commercial management of the wind farm after commissioning within the company group.

WKN-Chief Operative Officer (COO) Roland Stanze sadi that For WKN, the wind farm means a further acknowledgement of their work in Thuringia. In addition to its international subsidiaries WKN AG being part of the PNE WIND Group is operating a local office in the Thuringian city of Bad Langensalza. In 2016, WKN received the label “Fair Wind Energy” from the wind energy service unit of Thüringer Energie- und GreenTech-Agentur (ThEGA).
