APEX clean Energy acquires Great Pathfinder wind energy project from Optimum Renewables

Apex Clean Energy announced that it has acquired Great Pathfinder wind energy project,  headquartered in Des Moines, Iowa from Optimum Renewables.

Great Pathfinder Wind has the potential to bring 160–200 MW of wind energy into the Midcontinent ISO (MISO) market.

The project is planned for Boone and Hamilton Counties and could begin operating as early as 2020.

Apex President and CEO, Mark Goodwin said that Iowa generated more than 35% of its electricity from wind last year, the most for any state in history. Great Pathfinder is a strong project that will help Iowa continue on this positive trajectory, and they look forward to working with Optimum to bring it over the finish line.

Optimum Renewables CEO, Steve Thompson said that the Great Pathfinder wind energy project is well positioned with strong support from local landowners and counties. They elected to partner with Apex due to their capabilities and professionalism. This project will help build an even greener Iowa future.
