Orkustofnun issued offshore geothermal license to North Tech energy
Icelandic energy authority, Orkustofnun for the first time issued an offshore geothermal research and exploration license. It has issued two license for two offshore areas on seabed.
One of the license areas is located in the southwest of Reykjanesta and the other license in the north between Trollaskaga and Melrakaslettur. The purpose of the approval is to gather information about these offshore high-temperature areas for energy production and then step further in research work in the second quarter.
